Sewing night!

Saturday, August 13, 2011

Sewing night came and went, and it was even more fun than I expected! (I was a bit nervous teaching something I just learned to do myself.) And can I just say... the purses turned out so well. I was incredibly impressed. I'll let the pictures do the talking tonight. I think you can tell we had a grand ole time.

Our next sewing class has already been (tentatively) decided. How about learning to make this:
Anyone in?

  1. This looks like so much fun!! Those wristlets are adorable. ;) I've thought about having a craft/sewing night for some of my friends, but I always get cold feet when it comes to teaching the techniques - especially since I don't always sew the "right" way! :)

  2. Oh my goodness, someone's wearing a 147 million orphans shirt! I love those! :) I have so much from them. :) Looks like you guys had fun.

  3. man, i wish i was there in TN. i'd totally attend. i need mega help figuring out my machine. drives me nuts sometimes!

p.s. cannot wait to see you soon!

  4. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO fun!!!!!!!! Love it all!

  5. it really was so so fun. whit i just loved it and being in your sweet house. Can't wait for monday woohoo!

  6. So fun! I'll have to come to a class sometime!

  7. If I had a sewing machine or remotely knew how to sew, I would be SO IN!! These projects all look great! :)

  8. Here's my proposed idea: there are lots (okay, maybe a few) in chicago? a trip up here for a class? :)

  9. Kristine,
I'd totally love to do a Chicago sewing class! I'll let you know when we come up next and maybe we can plan something! :)

  10. I LOVE the idea of a sewing night!!! I'm going to see if I can get a group of gals together and do the same thing!! SO excited! Wish I could have gone to your sewing night - but, alas, Florida is a little far ;-) .

I saw your tutorial for the bow clutch (which I'm about to make!), but I L-O-V-E the pleated clutch! What are the dimensions of it??? I'm thinking of winging it and trying to make my own. I may be kinda crazy, since I've never even sewn a zipper :-) . But ya gotta start somewhere, right?!

    1. Hi Elisha, The dimensions are about 9" across at the top, and about 11" at the bottom. You can use the same wriststrap and basically the same technique as the bow clutch!

  11. Thanks, Whitney! I'm gonna start cutting and creating :-)

I just love reading every one of your comments...
